Apple Confirms the New iPhone 12 Release
Speaking on a revenue call after the publication of Apple's (stratospheric) third-quarter earnings, company CFO Luca Mesri revealed that the iPhone 12 lineup will be delayed.
08/01 Update: The acclaimed Apple insider John Processor has added more hints to the news of Apple's iPhone 12 release. He tells me that the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models are "unstable" so they should try to make it the best to advertise.
This suggests that we may look at different levels of stock for entry-level and pro versions at launch, and if Apple can't balance it before the newly launched deadline, availability may vary depending on which model you buy. Apple has already done wonders to market these new iPhones closer to their usual time limit, but this is likely to lead to some bumpy edges for their release.
A) It was surprising to understand that the iPhone 12 launch event was the first of its kind in years, and b) the retail stock was initially specifically expected to be in short supply rather than late. Having said that, the good news for Messrs. Is that the supply will "be available [a few weeks later] than usual."
For reference, Apple released the iPhone 11 series on September 20th. By this measure, and Apple is a big fan of Friday retail dates, it will complete the release of the iPhone 12 lineup for October 2nd or October 9th. Under hopeful and over-delivery, October 2nd Love will be my bet.
Do iPhone 12 models have to wait? Sure, they get a lot of big details, but it looks controversial for Apple to reduce its battery capacity and increase prices when scraping popular catch-up screen technology.
