Some 118 Chinese mobile phone programs have been banned by the Indian government, as tensions between the two countries continue to grow.

Those on the list include many Tencent products including the hot video game PUBG Mobile and WeChat Work.

Earlier the government had banned 59 of the most popular apps including TikTok for national security reasons.

The ban comes after disagreements over the disputed Himalayan border.

Both India and China sent more troops to the Ladakh region in June and clashes left at least 20 Indian soldiers killed.

Satellite imagery appears to show that China has built new structures overlooking the Himalayan border region.

The US has also recently taken action against Chinese applications, threatening to block TikTok and ordering US firms to stop doing business with the Tencent WeChat platform. White House business adviser Peter Navarro said executives have other Chinese applications.
