More and more users around the world are upgrading to Windows 10. but many are still sticking with older software versions, new data shows.
Windows 10 is now being used on almost two-thirds of Windows devices as Microsoft's push continues to grow, according to the latest data from the Netmarket share.

Overall, 59.37% of devices running Windows 10. are the most popular version of the operating system.
Windows 10 vs Windows 7
Windows accounts for 87.03% of the desktop and laptop market share, however, older versions of Microsoft's operating system are still in common use.
In particular, despite support for Windows 7 ending in January 2020, it still accounts for 23.34% of PCs, according to NetMarket.
Even worse, reputable Windows XP still holds 0.82% of all Windows users, meaning that running old and insecure software could lead to attacks on millions of devices.
Because Microsoft has an unfortunate habit of breaking bits of its latest OS regularly, many users are reluctant to upgrade to Windows 10.
Microsoft now wants to ensure that Windows 10 growth continues until 2020, as the operating system is now recovering from a crash in April 2020, where the OS fell to 56% from 57.34% last month.
Elsewhere, Linux usage continues to grow, reaching 3.57% after first climbing the 3% marker in June 2020, Apple's MacOS share falling back to just 8.95% (down from 9.68% last month) and Chrome OS (used) by Google's Chromebook devices ) Is very solid at 0.39% market share.
